Your Level
In your booking, you can enter your individual surf level so that we can prepare for your stay in the best possible way. State your level to the best of your ability; you can discuss all further details with your coach on site.
Level 1: Beginner
I don't have any surfing experience yet.
I would love to learn all surf basics so I can surf safely all over the world. I am looking forward to learning the right technique from the ground up to make rapid progress.
If you join us as a surf beginner, we teach all basic theoretical aspects before we go in the water. We take our job very seriously to teach you all the basics of surfing. You'll receive analytical feedback from our experienced coaches to take your surfing to the next level.
After your week with us, you have developed a safe stand-up technique on the board, a controlled ride on the wave and can make your first manoeuvres. In addition to these skills, you will be able to independently identify good spots where you can safely go surfing yourself in the future.
Level 2: Experienced beginner
I've surfed a few times already. Getting up works pretty well. I would like to intensify my pop-up technique and all basic surfing techniques. Wave reading and pop-up timing are also expandable. I am ready to surf “unbroken” waves and intensify my first maneuvers.
As an experienced beginner, you will always receive an in-depth look at the basic surfing techniques in theory and also in water from our local coaches. After the first surf lesson, your coach will be able to assess where you have potential for improvement and, of course, you can also share your wishes and expectations with him. You'll receive analytical feedback from our experienced coaches to take your surfing to the next level.
After your week with us, you've improved your pop-up technique on the board, intensified your maneuvers and will certainly be able to recognize for yourself which spots you can surf yourself in the future.
Level 3: Advanced
I surf regularly. I'm confident in basic surfing techniques. I can see in which direction a wave breaks and am able to travel the wave safely. I would like to improve my maneuvers (buttom turn, top turn, cutback, etc.) and work on driving the ideal line on the wave. I also feel comfortable in a line up between other surfers. If the waves aren't huge, I'm also able to surf over a reef.
As an advanced surfer, you will discuss your strengths and weaknesses individually with our coaches in order to work effectively on your technique.
It is very important to us that you also make noticeable progress as an intermediate surfer during your retreat week. Video analysis in particular will give you new insights and take your browsing to the next level.
Guiding: As an advanced surfer, you also have the opportunity to go on a short surf trip with one of our coaches. We set out to find the best waves of the day. Our qualified guides know the best spots in the area and can hardly wait to go surfing with you. After the commercial is briefly explained to you, the session starts.
This is an additional service for our surfers who already feel comfortable on a reef. Structured guiding should be seen as a supplement to our surf courses. Please note that our coaches will check whether guiding at a challenging surfing spot matches your surfing level.
Level 4: Advanced
I'm a seasoned surfer. I prevail in the line up with experienced surfers. I surf all surf spots (reef, points, beach break) of all sizes. My maneuvers are distinctive and safe.
Guiding: As an advanced surfer, you also have the opportunity to go on a short surf trip with one of our coaches. We set out to find the best waves of the day. Our qualified guides know the best spots in the area and can hardly wait to go surfing with you. After the commercial is briefly explained to you, the session starts.
This is an additional service for our surfers who already feel comfortable on a reef. Structured guiding should be seen as a supplement to our surf courses. Please note that our coaches will check whether guiding at a challenging surfing spot matches your surfing level.

Yoga Highlight & Relax
Die Surflehrer sind sehr erfahren und gehen auf jeden Einzelnen ein. Die Yogastunden waren für mich das Highlight. Der Tagesablauf ist eine perfekte Mischung aus entspannen, lernen und üben. Das Essen ist einfach der Hammer! Für mich als veganerin war sehr viel dabei. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, sauber und groß

Super tolle Erfahrung! Die Location und die Vibes sind top, sowie das ganze Team vor Ort - zum Surfen genial und das Yoga war wunderschön! Nach einer Woche fühle ich mich total happy und ausgeglichen. Danke!
Beginner-friendly Surf coaching
The best surf camp I've been to so far. The surf lessons are well structured - every day before surfing, there is a small theory section in which you learn useful things that you can implement directly in the water. The waves in Sri Lanka are very beginner-friendly and so you make progress again and again. In addition, the team is simply great. Everyone is so adorable and does their best. See you soon!

"Ich bin zum ersten Mal alleine gereist und kann diesen Ort dafür wirklich sehr empfehlen! Sowohl die Stimmung unter den Gästen als auch das Personal war unfassbar gut. Das Essen war unglaublich (!) und die Surf & Yoga Sessions machen mega Spaß. Ich könnte mir jederzeit vorstellen, wieder her zu kommen :)
Intermediate Surfer
I've been to Surf Spirit's Jungle Villa for a second time with my girlfriend and we would come back anytime. The location, the food, the employees... absolutely world-class - For beginners, there are ideal conditions to take their first steps on the board. Morning surf guiding is ideal for intermediates. The coaches have a plan to respond to each student. I've already been to many surf camps but this is by far the best I've been to so far.

Der perfekte Ort für super Vibes und zum Surfen lernen! Alle sind so toll und gut drauf, es hat extrem viel Spa´gemacht. Die Zimmer sind super und der Strand direkt vor der Tür.
Mindset
Ich war am Anfang sehr skeptisch ob das wirklich was für mich ist. Die ganzen Befürchtungen waren völlig unbegründet. Es gab bis jetzt fast keinen Urlaub, bei dem ich so schnell abschalten konnte. Ihr habt den perfekten Tagesablauf entwickelt. Ich konnte bei allen Lessons gut mithalten und es hat mich nicht nur körperlich weitergebracht, sondern auch mein Mindset verbessert.

Beginners & Intermediate Surf
The surf lessons were great, the conditions in the bay were consistently good, suitable for beginners and intermediates, and there were additional surf guiding sessions for advanced surfers. The video analysis is very helpful in improving your technique and the professional surf photography is a great souvenir.
Surf Progress
This has been one of my best weeks ever in my entire life! Sri Lanka is such a warm, safe, colorful and welcoming country and surf spirit retreat is simply its crown jewel. It's a gorgeous villa so close to the shore but still peacefully in land. The teaching and management team is amazing: young, cool, friendly, open, highly skilled. I had ko expectations about surf and learned so much in one week that I could tame medium to large and waves of the Indian Ocean (in a beginner beach). The food is mostly plentiful, tasty and healthy with loads of local fruit. I was terribly sad to leave this place, I still dream about it with closed and open eyes.
